Anat Grigorio Dance Projects combine contemporary dance and physical theater creating multidisciplinary art works and collaborations with artists on both national and international arenas. The work is based on constant exploration of the human body through natural sensuality that is hidden in simple mundane activities and takes roots in constant research of human spirit, behavior and consciousness, their limits, roles and influences on each other.
Anat Grigorio (1974) is a Stage Artist, Dancer, Choreographer and Dance Teacher. Since 2010 a member of the 'Israeli Choreographers association'. She Holds B.Ed. degree from the Kibbutzim College of Education, Technology, and the Arts. Since 2016, founder of "Self Performance"- A summer dance and creation workshop for dancers. 2014 till today Teacher at Gila School- Movement and Stage Art for Women of Mature Age, found by Choreographer Galit Liss. Anat's recent creation process based on a duet with a dancer from Gila School. The duet I Leaned on You premiered on April 2024 as part of retrospective event to mark 15 years of work and creation by the choreographer Galit Liss with the mature body, curated by Natalie Zuckerman, Dr. Idit Suslik and Galit Liss, and produced by Gal Carmona.
Anat has been trained as a dancer and a performer at the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Co, Ido Tadmor Dance Co, Niv Sheinfeld & Oren Laor, Nimrod freed dance co.
On 2009 graduated from physical theater studies at "Persona Theater" under the guidance of Thieery Moral [France] & Nelly Amar. She has been creating dance works since 2003. Her recent solo work Follicles and Fireworks premiered at Intimadance festival 2023.
Since 2019 Anat collaborating with dancer and choreographer Michal Herman. Their recent work Over and Over Again premiered at Curtain Up Dance Festival 2022, and Mitbarberot premiered at Intimadance festival 2021.
Anat's works were presented in renown Israeli dance festivals such as ISRAEL FESTIVAL, CURTAIN UP DANCE FESTIVAL, INTIMADANCE FESTIVAL, WOMAN FESTIVAL, INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE, and also received international acclaim.
(2017) Was invited to participate in “Maker’s Space” - artist in residence project at “Keshet center for the arts” in Albuquerque New Mexico, there she developed her solo work "Tragedy of Being".
(2016) She took part in “Exposed Festival” - A partnership between five major institutions and organizations in the U.S – Georgia State University’s Rialto Center for the Arts, Emory University’s Candler Concert Series, Kennesaw State University Departments and Dance and Theater and Performance Studies, CORE Dance, and 7 Stages Theatre – to bring over 20 Israeli artists for a six-week festival of performances, classes, workshops and creativity conversations.
(2015) Premiered her work MEMO, and performed in several International dance festivals in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Isadora Dance Festival in Russia, the Israeli week festival at Gdansk Theater in Poland. (2014) Premiered her work ON THE EDGE, in Curtain up dance festival which at the time was directed by Itzik Juli. On 2015 got invited as a guest performance to the XV International Festival in Krasnoyarsk – Russia.
(2013) Her solo work Mr. Nice Guy commissioned by Israel Fesival in Jerusalem, and was presented in a several gender conference like- “Women Leading the Change” Conference in Jerusalem, “Woman Festival” - Gender Conference in cooperation with Tel Aviv University, and also in international dance festivals in- Uruguay, Spain, Russia, China, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Albuquerque , Houston, Atlanta - U.S.A.
(2011) Won a prestigious scholarship for choreographers – A Jerrard Bachar center for the arts project’s in Jerusalem carried out under the artistic direction of Nigel Charnock - DV8. On November 2011 directed the outdoor dance stage project "ROCK N' DANCE" at “Akko Festival”, Israel.
(2009) received the “Wind Award”, for her work "katuk" during the 15th International Festival "Pula Puff" in Croatia.
